Achilles tendonitis is a common ailment of individuals in running and jumping sports such as football, basketball, volleyball, soccer, and track. An individual will complain of pain, and possible swelling of the Achilles tendon combined with a decreased ability to perform that may be related to overstraining or the lack of proper conditioning of the tendon.
The Cho-Pat Achilles Tendon Strap, when used in conjunction with other forms of therapy such as ice and stretching, may provide effective relief from pain and discomfort of Achilles tendonitis. It decreases the tensile forces placed upon the Achilles tendon via the dissemination of forces resulting from a muscular contraction. The strap also promotes an early heel rise, which helps to reduce the stress placed on the tendon.
United StatesThe item may not fit everyone perfectly...but works OK for me. I have smaller ankles and Medium size seems to fit. The support from the Achilles strap doesn't cure anything, but seems to help relieve some (not all) pain.

I've had two heel surgeries on my Achilles tendonitis as my tendon sheaths unexpectedly crystalized--for a reason no doctor has been able to satisfactorily explain. After decades of painful doctors' visits, physical therapy, and uninspiring medical assistance, I happened upon your Achilles Tendon Strap. Although it caused the parting of ways with at least one podiatrist--he really wanted to try his hand at surgery--it has offered me what no doctor has during the past three decades; a daily existence with relatively low-pain. My current doctors--particularly those at the Pain Clinic--have helped me in this area as well, however, I credit Cho-pat with making me able to walk and carry on a relatively normal day-to-day existence. I teach and direct theatrical productions at the college level. Without your product, I know I would be confined to a much more sedentary lifestyle; one that would not allow me to continue to pursue my love of theatre or my fairly active calendar. The Cho-Pat Achilles Tendon Strap is hand-wash ONLY. Use warm water with mild detergent. We recommend using 2Toms StinkFree Sports Detergent to maintain the freshness of your Cho-Pat products. Squeeze out excess water and dry at normal room temperature. DO NOT twist or wring. Keep fasteners free of lint and threads.
