Golfer's Elbow Exercises

Golfer's Elbow Exercises - Medi-Dyne Healthcare Products

Sometimes the only thing you can do to relieve the pain of golfer’s elbow or medical epicondylitis is to participate in golfer’s elbow exercises that will reduce the inflammation, increase flexibility, and essentially eliminate the pain altogether. Having golfer’s elbow can really put a damper on your game or on your everyday activities, and leaving it until later can cause further damage as well. Understanding some of the golfer’s elbow stretches and exercises you can do will help you to avoid a worsening condition.

Golfer’s Elbow Stretches

Some of the golfer’s elbow stretches you can implement into your daily stretching routine include:
  • Finger Stretches – If you have five spare minutes in your day, you can complete the golfer’s elbow exercises for fingers without any tools. Put your arm straight out in front of you, push with the shoulder, palm facing up. With the opposite hand, grab the fingers on the extended hand and try to pull them down and back towards the body. Hold in position for 30 seconds, release the hold, then try it again.
  • Wrist Stretches – Put your arm straight out in front of you, palm facing down, and grasping the middle of a golf club. Using your muscles, and not the force of the swinging golf club, twist your wrist so that the palm is then facing upwards, all the while clutching the club. Twist the wrist back again until the palm faces down. Continue this motion ten times for each wrist, but never allow the force of the swinging club to control the movements.
  • Forearm Stretches – With the knuckles facing upward, hold the StretchRite® on each side, straight out in front of your body. Keeping it tight, slowly raise it above your head and towards your back as far as you can go without feeling pain. Gently bring it back down, rest, and start over again. Repeat this action ten times.
