When you stand up, try to keep your feet shoulder-width apart and point your toes straight ahead. Think of the area from your waist down as the trunk of a tree and that there is a rod extending along your spine, from your tailbone to the top of your head. Make sure your shoulders aren’t raised and your head is not tilted.
Stretch Out that Upper Back
While you’re in this standing position, place your palms together and lift your arms straight up. Visualize having a string on each of your fingertips that is pulling you straight up. Then, rotate your palms downward as you lower your arms to shoulder level. Hold that pose for three to five seconds and repeat 10 times.
